In addition to its entrepreneurial activities, Earthwake Association contributes to the fight against plastic pollution in two ways.

Earthwake mobilizes to clean up Everest

In the Everest valley, Earthwake supports the Tri-Haut pour l'Everest association , to build a recycling center in Pangboche and process the 250 tonnes of plastic waste produced annually by expeditions. Thanks to an injection machine supplied by Earthwake Association, the plastic waste is transformed into yak figurines, which are sold locally to create jobs.

A crusher for Kerkennah fishermen

On the island of Kerkennah off the coast of Tunisia, Earthwake, in partnership with the municipality, is fighting plastic pollution caused by fishing traps abandoned in the Mediterranean. These generate around 600 tonnes of waste a year. In addition to the Chrysalis® supplied by the company, Earthwake Association has donated a sorting table, a plastic shredder and a system for packaging the shredded material.

Advancing research on microplastics

In partnership with EVEA, a consultancy specializing in eco-design, Earthwake Association is funding a study to analyze the environmental impact of microplastics incorporated into textiles.
